« I have decided to do another devotional to Odin, this one an anthology along the lines of « When the Lion Roars » or my forthcoming Idunna and Bragi devotional.

To that end, I’m requesting submissions of prayers, poems, black and white art work, rituals, meditations, articles (I’d love some meaty articles), recipes (incense, bath, food, etc.) and anything else that seems appropriate.

The book will be put out through Asphodel Press and contributors will receive a copy of the finished product in payment (please include a bio with your submissions).

Interested folks should contact me at tamyris at
I’d like to have this finished by summer’s end, so the deadline while loose, is sooner rather than later!

thanks! (and feel free to pass this request around).«

Title: Fire Jewel: A Devotional Anthology to Freya
Publisher: Asphodel Press
Deadline: May 13th, 2012

She is known as Giver, Sow, Sea-Bright, Battle-Goddess, Teacher of Seidr, Vanadis, Priestess, Daughter of Njord, Sister of Frey. Freya is one of the most popular goddesses in the Northern Tradition. This anthology is a celebration of Freya in her many aspects.

I am looking to include prayers, rituals, poetry, articles, experiential essays, recipes, meditations, black and white artwork or whatever anyone feels called to contribute.

Length of submissions: no more than 8,000 words for an essay

Do not feel as if you need to be Heathen to contribute, as long as submissions are respectful and focused on Freya specifically. All are welcome to submit something for the anthology.

Regrettably, I will not be able to compensate contributors for their work; please consider your work an offering for Freya Herself. I would ideally like to give contributors a copy of the book when it is published, but I cannot guarantee that yet. I am also considering donating the proceeds in part or in whole to a charitable organization (which one is yet to be decided, but I’m leaning towards one that is international in scope, and would welcome suggestions). Heifer International has been suggested as a possible charity.

I am only asking for one-time publishing rights. All contributors will retain the rights to their respective contributions. I will also require legal names and addresses for the purpose of sending out release forms.

Submissions and questions about the anthology may be sent to kryhea(at)yahoo(dot)com

Please send all submissions as Word (.doc) documents or RTF files (.rtf). Sample images may be sent as JPG files, but higher resolution images will be needed for the final product.

Merci d’avance ! N’hésitez pas à répandre le mot…

Little note for the English Speakers : I am looking for any resources about infertility in paganism since I lost mines. Rites of passage to accept infertility, rites of passage about menopause, any meditations, prayers, etc. All traditions and gods. Sites, books, testimonies, boards/forums… Don’t hesitate to spread the word.

The Call for Submissions

Asphodel Press

Working Title: Calls to Our Ancestors

Description: An anthology of prayers, poems, devotional pieces, essays, personal experience, and/or artwork in honor of our Ancestors. This anthology draws from a variety of sources and authors, and may include Ancestors worship in the form of spirits and/or Gods as well, for those whose beliefs encompass this.

What is not desired: fanfic, ego-stroking, self-aggrandizement. It’s one thing if you believe you’re sired by a God/dess, it’s another to treat other humans as lower than yourself.

Word Length: 800-1500 words minimum for essays. No specialized fonts, please. All formats for written pieces should be in a .doc, .docx, or .rtf file format. Any devotional pieces, artwork, etc. in visual format needs to be submitted in no less than 300 dpi format, preferably .tiff or .png for lossless quality.

Contributors will not be paid for this contribution. This is a one-time publishing opportunity, so you retain all rights to your piece and can use it as you wish after publication.

Any contributors need to give their legal names and addresses in the email for a release form for their work.

The deadline for submissions is June 2nd, 2011 at 11:59pm.

Emails for interested parties can be sent to
